Where to eat in Sarnia: Lola's Lounge

Fine dining in Sarnia is ever so limited but the one consistent option is Lola's Lounge on Christina Street. It's a converted former dinner that's now a loudy decorated hot spot. The Hub and I, and our Sarnia lifesavers grabbed dinner and drinks there last night. Oh, and the homemade chocolate flourless torte for dessert. Resos recommended.

Where to eat in Sarnia: The Raj Mahal

I've said this before. Stuff in Sarnia is hard to find. You don't walk downtown and pass ethnic food restaurants. You have to seek them out. Or your husband's barber has to pass him a photocopied take-out menu for the former pharmacist who now prepares authentic Indian food from his home kitchen: The 'Raj' Mahal because the former pharmacist is named Raj. Highly recommended if you aren't up for crushing your own spices. 24-hour advance notice required.

Tent dinning

Snowboarding at Mt. Holly postponed by one day. I finished Zeitoun, executed a massive grocery shop, chatted with a good friend, watched men's biathlon, and now the Hub is assembling homemade meatballs for dinner.

I am daydreaming that we'll eat them inside a lovely tent like the one made the creative couple from Something's Hiding In There.

Protein punch

Leb Lebi - one of my favourite protein packed dinners discovered in a magazine en route to New Zealand last year. If I remember correctly, it is a favourite energy boosting meal of a hot couple who own a bustling restaurant in NYC. The best combination of chickpeas, tuna, poached eggs, cumin and hot sauce I've ever had.
